Our System Recovery Solution comes in 2 formats:  Hardware Version & Software Version

Hardware Version

Being a Hardware Solution, a small interface card is plugged into computer slot. Only with an interface card can fully take control prior to any Operation System.   This prevents any virus infection at the boot partition affect the performance of the PC.  The primary function is to provide full-system protection of logical drive C for the purpose of fast system recovery, i.e., Instantaneously for Windows Operating Systems!!!  Thus reduces your time and money to maintain PC systems from software disruptions.

Our System Recovery Solution maintains a small table controlled only by itself in the hard drive. It records any changes written to the protected partition of the hard drive.   The recovery program is burned into interface card, so by mean most of programs or viruses cannot affect harware System Recovery card's protection.

A Bit of Developing History

System Recovery Solution comes a long way.  Believe it or not, the idea of system recovery solution started from software engineers who are looking for methods in saving SPG/RPG gaming data, such as maps, characters, abilities, etc.  This game saving idea was then treated on hard drive contents, such as FAT conditions, registry contents and other computing data, which becomes the nowadays System Recovery Solution.

System Recovery Solution, The Orginal

In our first generation, our system recovery solution use to store an image of the protected data at a separate partition created by CYIC System Recovery Card.  This partition is set to an 1:1 ratio and allows users to work at the image area virtually.   Daily computer operations are still processed through logical drive C. 

When image restoration is required, the last saved data image at imaged Partition will replaced whatever on Drive C.  This process is INSTANTANEOUS for OS using FAT 16 / FAT 32 / NTFS (Windows NT)*-- WD-005 is the NT instant recover version.  Restoration process can also be set to perform on every boot, every day, every week, or every month.  This first generation requires users to use a build-in System Recovery partition tool to repartition hard drive prior to the installation of OS desired.  

Permanent modifications can be made to the imaged Partition easily.  After all applications installations are completed with satisfication, just reboot and saved to the Imaged Partition (System Password Required).  No need to disable System Recovery function while you are installing, thus saved the risk of installing any virus or condemned software.  Supervisor mode can also be used which release System Recovery protection during applications installations which requires restarting of computer system.

Evolving into PnP Version

In the First Generation, the most disturbing encounter we have was not people cannot accept the idea of System Recovery, but that you have to first remove your existing data and rebuild it with System Recovery Partitioning tool.  Thus, our Second Generation is focused in how to install System Recovery Solution without disturbing the existing data, and therefore, the PnP Version.  Design for computers using Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000 as their operating systems, CYIC System Recovery Solution can NOW be installed without re-partition and re-format the existing primary hard drive thus, DOES NOT result in data loss prior to protection.

Hard Drive space is still required for the instantaneous system recovery, but is reduced by a significant margin.  With new technology, we are able to store the temporary data, when they are written into the protected partiton, DYNAMICALLY.  Now, you only have to specify when to warn you if this temporary data is exceeding certain level instead of putting half the hard drive space as reserve for the protected partition.

(at 200MB or about 10% of your hard drive space minimum)

Users can choose to save data on the next boot for environment where saving data is necessary.  Otherwise, CYIC System Recovery Solution will erase all modification during last session.   Session modification removal frequency can be set from 0 to 7 days.

Software Version

Introduction of software version started from the demand of massive deployment.  Some school board with tens of thousand machines cannot afford to open up each computer and insert an interface card.  Even with hardware solution supreme protection, the labor and time involve to provide protection is still not manageable.  Software solution allows these IT managers who want to introduce System Recovery Solution while sacrificing the lessen security such as protection from booting via media other than hard drive.
